Automaker Ford is adding 2,000 jobs to its plant in Louisville, Ky., reports CNN, as a way to boost production of the upcoming aluminum version of the Ford F-Series Super Duty, an extension of the popular F-150, which started being produced with aluminum last year.

The 2,000 jobs are also part of the deal Ford struck with United Auto Workers to add 8,500 jobs in its latest union contract.

The Louisville plant already makes the steel version of the Super Duty. The aluminum version will go on sale next fall. Ford also recently promised to invest $600 million in the plant to make aluminum versions of the Ford Expedition and the Lincoln Navigator, both full-size SUVs.
